Christmas Fun

Well our Elf on a Shelf, Beauford, is back!! The kids were so excited to see him! This was one of his recent nights at our house. He decided to go camping and roast marshmallows with one of his friend deer.

Last night for family home evening we had a lesson on Christmas and then decorated gingerbread men. I for some reason cannot get sugar cookies that are for decorating to turn out, ever!!! I decided this year to bag the sugar cookies and try home made gingerbread. I love how they turned out!! They were really yummy too.

Avarie's

Avarie Birthday

Our sweet not so little girl turned five on Sunday!! We Love her so much! She is so sweet and loving! We are so glad she is a  part of our family!

Birthday facts
Favorite Color: Pink
Favorite Movie: Tinker bell: Secret of the Wings
She is so excited to start kindergarten this fall and is such a little social butterfly. She has had no problems at all adjusting to our new home in Georgia and has quickly made many friends!

Her birthday cake. She asked for a pink cake with purple flowers. Definitely one of the more simple cakes I have made but still fun!! The frosting in the pictures has more of a blue tint to it, but it is a periwinkle purple.

Skyping with grandma Karla while blowing out her candles

She had to have a strawberry cake so the cake was pink so I just made the butter cream frosting the same purple as the flowers

Black Friday Fishing Trip

Derrick decided this year he wanted to start a new tradition! fishing on Black Friday! I thought it was a great idea so we went!

I love this picture Avarie is thrilled to be with her dad

So I just love his face in this picture! He just melts my heart!!

The Chattahoochee River
The river is about a one minute drive away from our home! It is so fun to live so close to it and be able to ride on the trail that runs next to it or go fishing!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! The kids are getting to the ages they really start to understand the holidays! They had so much fun helping prep for it and then the whole day the just kept asking about thanksgiving! We are so blessed to be able to have this time with our kids!

Love Reid's face in this one

Recent project

Recently we decided Reid needed a dresser that went better with the things in his room so we tried our hand  at building furniture and here is the result. We are thrilled with it and will be building him a bed frame and headboard hopefully soon

Avarie's Room

Here are some pictures from the house. We are in the middle of building a dresser for Reid so the rest of our home has exploded so I will get pictures of the rest of the home later. We are definitely not done with decorating rooms, but it will be a slow process because we are wanting to build all of the things we want to add.

I love the view out her window! We will be adding a bookshelf/window seat underneath her window hopefully sometime soon
Her room has a built in desk, which is so nice. She loves it!
We are missing one of the letters. I need to go find another E because Reid got a hold of it and broke it so I am a little short on her name.

Reid's Room

Here are some pictures of Reid's room. He doesn't have a dresser yet which will go where that table under the shelf is. The lighting isn't great but here is what we have done so far.

We will be building a book shelf for him to go with the little rocking chair for a little reading corner, but that is down the road. We also are going to be building him a bed with a headboard soon also.

Trunk or Treat

On Friday evening we had our ward trunk or treat. The kids had so much fun. There were games and a costume parade with prizes. After this they went out to the parking lot for the trunk or treat!
Avarie chose this year to be a lady bug and Reid wanted to be Blue from the movie Rio. So I bought some felt and went to town making them. It was so much fun to make them and see their faces when they were done and how excited they were to wear them!

Cutest little lady bug I have ever seen
