Avarie is Sitting up

Avarie last night decided she wanted to try to sit up. I had her on the floor laying down and rolling around while she was playing. I stepped outside to ask Derrick a quick question and I turned around to go back into the house and she was sitting up by herself. Then last night she woke up at 10:30 pm for some reason and I walked into her room to calm her down and her little head poped up and looked at me. She had sat herself up again in her crib (luckily after the first sitting up incident I dropped her crib). It made me jump. I have not been used to her sitting looking at me when I go into the room.

Last weekend we were able to go to Lava Hot Springs with Derrick's Family since Troy and Teagan were here from Kentucky visiting. Avarie had a hard time at first in the swimming pools and wasn't sure she liked the water. She came around later that evening and was putting her own face in the water. While we were up in the cabing she started trying to crawl since she now has the sitting up thing down. She doesn't quite have the leg and arms at the same time thing down yet but knowing her it will be there in the next little while. Kaelen found a new friend this weekend too. She got along great with her cousin Lenny the puggle. I will hopefully be able to post pictures of the trip sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day yesterday!!!! Derrick got a Puppy!!! Her name is Kaelen and she is the cutest little dog and so sweet. She is half Whippet ( a medium sized greyhound) and half Boarder collie. Derrick is loving having her. A picture of her will be added to this post soon.
For Father's Day we went to Derrick's Parents house and then Went to my parents house and played. It was great fun.

Avarie

Avarie went to the doctor last Tuesday and she weighed in at 17 lbs 4 oz and was 27 1/2 inches long. She is a happy healthy baby. We went over to Tori and Jason's (Derrick's Sister and her husband) to play on Saturday because Avarie was sick on playing with just mom and dad. She had lots of fun with her cousin Kaylee and they even got to play in the bath tub together. It was so cute!!!
Avarie is now sitting up on her own for longer periods and rolling all over the place. The other day she decided she wanted her toys (I guess I was not paying close enough attention) so she rolled over to her basket of toys and dumped them out and started playing with them. I think we may have a little handful on our hands when walking or crawling starts!!!!
